A Major Milestone for The High Leaf Rangers - July 2026

The High Leaf Rangers, is incredibly proud to announce that we have been awarded the Southland District Council Mowing and Cemetery maintenance contracts for the Waihopai–Toetoe and Wallace–Takitimu areas.

These contracts involve mowing and cemetery grounds maintenance across a large number of Southland communities, reserves and public spaces.

For us, this is far more than simply being awarded two contracts. It is a major milestone for our business, our team and our family.

The High Leaf Rangers is a locally owned and operated Southland company. We started with a clear goal of building a reliable, professional grounds maintenance business that could create local employment, support our communities and prove that a smaller local operator could compete for significant commercial and local government work.

Being trusted by the Southland District Council to maintain public spaces across two major contract areas means a great deal to us.

These are the parks, reserves and cemeteries used and visited by Southland families every day. They are places where people gather, play sport, remember loved ones and spend time in their communities. We understand the importance of maintaining these areas with care, respect and pride.

As a young business, securing contracts of this size is a huge achievement. It represents the hours of planning, hard work and personal commitment that have gone into establishing The High Leaf Rangers and building the company into what it is today.

Founder and General Manager, Davie Kingipotiki, said:

“We are extremely proud to have been awarded these contracts. When we started The High Leaf Rangers, our goal was to build a strong Southland business that could create opportunities for local people and provide a service our communities could rely on.

To be trusted with maintaining public spaces throughout the Waihopai–Toetoe and Wallace–Takitimu areas is a massive achievement for our company. It shows that a young, locally owned business can compete, grow and earn the opportunity to take on major contracts.

This means a lot to our family and our team. We know these areas belong to the communities we serve, and we will take real pride in looking after them.”

The award of these contracts gives The High Leaf Rangers a strong foundation for continued growth and

It a provides us with the chance to demonstrate what a committed local company can deliver.

Our team will approach these contracts with the same values on which the business was built: reliability, hard work, honesty, attention to detail and genuine pride in the work we complete.

We would like to thank the Southland District Council and our Community Boards for placing their trust in The High Leaf Rangers. We would also like to thank our clients, suppliers, friends, family and everyone who has supported and encouraged us since the business began.

This is an exciting new chapter for our company, but it is only the beginning.

We look forward to serving the communities throughout Waihopai–Toetoe and Wallace–Takitimu and continuing to build a successful, respected and proudly Southland-owned business.
